Swelling of the hard palate
Artwork title: Hard and soft palate
Specialization: Biology and Genetics
Description: In horses in the plexus of 4 5 layers of vessels that determines the predisposition of horses to the edema of the hard palate. In horses, the incisive papilla is reduced. Distinguish: paired tonsill palatina tonsils are located behind the non-verbal tongue in cattle horses and dogs in pigs are absent; unpaired tonsil tonsilla veli palatini in horses and pigs. In horses a soft palate is long.

Hard and soft palate
Solid sky ?? palatum durum. The bony base of the solid palate consists in the anterior part of the palatine processes of the incisors, in the middle part ?? of the palatine processes of the maxillary bones, and in the back part ?? a horizontal plate of the palatine bone. The surface of the mucosa of the hard palate is divided into right and left symmetrical halves by a longitudinal thin elevation, called the palatal mucosal suture. On the sides of the seam lie transverse ridges ?? rugae palatinae. On the rollers ?? small papillae. Such a relief of the mucous membrane is adapted for maceration of food. In the thickness of the mucosa of the hard palate is a vascular plexus with a large number of venous vessels. Do horses in the plexus 4 ?? 5 layers of blood vessels, which determines the predisposition of horses to swelling of the hard palate. Behind the cervical tooth cushion and incisive teeth, the pig's pectoral papilla is located in the pigs ?? papilla incisiva. On its sides lie slit-like, small nosonic canals. leading to the vomer-nasal olfactory organ. In horses, the incisive papilla is reduced. the nasoneal channels are infected. The solid sky from the maxillary nerve of the V pair is innervated by a large palatine nerve.
Soft sky. or the palatine curtain, ?? palatum molle (velum palatinum) descends from the caudal part of the hard palate into the lumen of the pharynx towards the root of the tongue. Its free edge is denoted by a palatine arch ?? arcus palatinus. Cattle and pigs on the ventral edge of the soft palate have a slight protrusion ?? tongue ?? uvula palatina. From the soft palate to the right and left to the root of the tongue go the folds of the mucosa ?? palatal-lingual arcs ?? arcus palatoglossus. In the direction of the pharynx from him go wrinkles? palatal-pharyngeal arches ?? arcus palatopharyngeus. In the soft palate are tonsils in the form of folds and depressions of the mucosa, in the walls of which there are lymphatic follicles. Distinguish: paired palatine tonsils ?? tonsilla palatina are located behind the palate-tongues in cattle, horses and dogs; pigs are absent; unpaired tonsil? tonsilla veli palatini in horses and pigs. Cattle and dogs are not developed. In the soft sky are three muscles. the palatine ?? m. palatinus shortens the palatine curtain; lift palate of the palate ?? m. levator veli palatini paired; stretcher of the palatine curtain ?? m. tensor veli palatini. In horses, the soft palate is long. Breathing of horses through the mouth is impossible. The soft palate is innervated by the small palatine nerve of the V pair.
