Before the arrival of the ambulance brigade, you can try to remove the swelling of the throat yourself: to inject intramuscularly or intravenously any antihistamine drug - suprastin, dimedrol, claritin. If there is no way to do the injection, put the pill under the tongue.
If the laryngeal edema is a consequence of the chemicalburn, it is necessary to wash the victim's throat with clean water or a solution neutralizing the action of the chemical. For example, if acetic acid is the cause of the burn, the throat should be rinsed with a solution of soda. And, as with any edema of the larynx, urgent hospitalization of the patient is necessary.
